More Charges Filed: Man Posed as Casting Agent in Lewisham

A man will face court today charged with 45 offences after allegedly falsifying documents and posing as a casting agent to lure young actors.

In November 2025, detectives attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command commenced an investigation under Strike Force Vadobal into reports a man allegedly falsified documents and posed as a casting agent for an international company, offering false TV/film opportunities in exchange for sexual activity.

Following inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at a Lewisham home in January, seizing documentation and electronic items.

A 57-year-old man was charged and remains before the courts.

Following further investigations including the forensic examination of seized items and identification of witnesses, strike force detectives arrested a 57-year-old man at a Lewisham home yesterday (Wednesday 25 March 2026).

He was taken to Newtown Police Station and charged with 45 offences including 13 counts of sexually touch another person without consent, three counts of incite other to do sexual act with them without consent, 10 counts of possess identity info to commit etc indictable offence, 10 counts of deal with identity info to commit etc indictable offence, six counts intentionally record intimate image without consent, dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal) and breach of bail.

The man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division - Court 6 today (Thursday 26 March 2026).
