The Albanese Government's Medicare Urgent Care Clinics have recently reached several significant milestones in Tasmania.
Since opening:
- The Bridgewater clinic has seen more than 10,000 presentations
- The Liverpool Street (Hobart) clinic has seen more than 20,000 presentations
- The Bathurst Street (Hobart) has seen more than 25,000 presentations
- The Devonport Clinic has seen more than 35,000 presentations
- The recently opened Sorrell Medicare Urgent Care Clinic has already seen more than 1,300 presentations.
This coming week marks another milestone with the Launceston Medicare Urgent Care Clinic set to welcome its 50,000th presentation - a huge contribution to managing demand for healthcare in the north.
And these numbers are only set to improve further, with new clinics promised at the last election already being delivered around Tasmania.
This shows just how much Tasmanians value the network of Medicare Urgent Care Clinics the Albanese Labor Government is delivering right across Tasmania.
Quotes attributable to Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care, Rebecca White:
"Labor's Medicare Urgent Care Clinics have made a huge difference to health care in Tasmania.
"Since they opened, the clinics have now helped more than 140,000 Tasmanians get the care they need, without long waits or any out-of-pocket costs.
"It's a fantastic free service for the community and it's taking a huge amount of pressure off struggling state-run health services. I want to thank every staff member at the Clinics who has helped us roll out an entirely new layer of public healthcare for Tasmanians."
