More progress on Lake upgrade

Orange Council

Contractors and Council staff are making steady progress on the $1.3 million upgrade of Lake Canobolas.

In recent weeks the next stage of wheel-chair accessible paths has been completed.

New turf has also been installed alongside the beach areas.

The first steps towards building a new playground on the eastern side of the lake has begun.

The former playground equipment has been removed and the preliminary site work is due to start next week.

Weather permitting the new playground will start to be installed later this month and be compteted before the end of the year.

The $1.3 million project is being funded by:

  • NSW Government's Places to Swim - Open Spaces program $1 million
  • NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities program $344K
  • Orange City Council $34K
  • Cadia Valley Operations $6500
