The Sandringham Family Leisure Centre pool will temporarily close from 2 April for up to 6 weeks so repair works can be completed by our builder. This closure is required so the builder can rectify the pool surface that, while designed to be non‑slip, has proven too abrasive.
The pool will reopen as soon works are complete and the facility is safe and suitable for intergenerational community use.
All other businesses within the Leisure Centre, including the gym, café, physiotherapy services and basketball courts, will remain open during the works.
Maintaining a 50-year-old aquatic facility presents ongoing challenges. Council is looking to the future and developing an Aquatics Strategy to guide future planning and investment.
