Businesses in the tourism, hospitality and events sector that have been impacted by COVID-19 can now apply for funding under the COVID-Safe Tourism Co-Investment Program to create new jobs across Canberra.
The program is part of the ACT's Jobs & Economic Recovery plan – and will help achieve our target of creating 250,000 local jobs by 2025.
By investing in new COVID-Safe tourism initiatives, we can help support the sector through this difficult period and position Canberra as a safe tourist destination in the years ahead.
The $1.5 million program will provide matched funding to businesses over two years to develop COVID-safe tourism products or experiences, infrastructure to improve visitor experiences and technology or systems that will support the recovery of the sector and provide opportunities for new job creation.
Round one funding for the 2020/21 financial year is now open, with ACT businesses able to apply for funding of between $10,000 and $100,000 on a dollar matched basis.
