More than 9 grams of drugs seized during vehicle stop at Uralla

About 9.50pm Saturday (31 August 2019), officers attached to New England Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on Park Street at Uralla in relation to a traffic offence.

Officers spoke with the female driver, before speaking with a back seat male passenger who allegedly wasn't wearing a seat belt.

Police allege the man, aged 36, appeared to act in a suspicious manner.

Officers searched the man and allegedly found drug paraphernalia, and two resealable bags containing 6.56 grams of a crystallised substance believed to be methylamphetamine, and 3.32 grams of a white powder, concealed in a bag being worn by the man.

The man was arrested and taken to Armidale Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, and deal with property proceeds of crime.

He was bail refused to appear before Armidale Local Court Wednesday (4 September 2019).
