From Monday 19 October, traffic on the Princes Highway near Moruya TAFE will move onto the newly built half of the roundabout while Council crews get to work on the other side.
Drivers can expect weekday delays over the coming weeks, with traffic moving in one direction at a time. Eurobodalla Council's major projects manager Phil Oste said the switch marked an important milestone.
"Moving traffic onto the completed section means we can get on with completing the final stage of the roundabout," Mr Oste said.
"The changed traffic arrangements could cause delays, so please allow extra travel time or avoid travelling through Moruya during peak periods if you can."
Mr Oste said two lanes are planned to reopen outside work hours.
"The lane arrangement could be different each time you travel through the area, so please stay alert and follow the signs and traffic controls in place.
"We know roadworks can impact journeys. The team is working hard to have the roundabout fully operational in time for the festive season."
The arrangements are expected to remain in place into the second half of November, weather permitting.
Access to and from Moruya TAFE will remain unchanged for now. Right turns into and out of the TAFE are not permitted, except for buses.
