The invaluable contributions volunteers make to the community were recognised at a Mosman Volunteers Afternoon Tea, held during National Volunteer Week.
The theme 'Connecting Communities' reflects the dedication that Mosman Council's more than 270 registered volunteers bring to a range of areas including community care, youth services, Bushcare, library services and Mosman Art Gallery.
About 100 volunteers attended the afternoon tea, where Mosman Mayor Ann Marie Kimber presented certificates to individuals who have reached five-, 10-, 20- and 25-year service milestones.
Robyn Beardsell has volunteered for 26 years at Mosman Art Gallery in a range of roles.
"Over the years, I've taken on a variety of roles that have allowed me to contribute to the gallery's vibrant community," she said.
"Volunteering at Mosman Art Gallery has been such a rewarding experience. It allows me to not only contribute to the community but also further deepen my love and appreciation for art."
Vin Patanamadathil has been volunteering in transport services and a newly established Men's Walking Group over the past year and highlighted the benefits of social interaction in improving mood and increasing happiness.
"The walking group has helped me to connect with others in the community and to learn and exchange our shared, rich life experience," he said.
Mayor Kimber said volunteers should be proud of their achievements and their amazing impact on Mosman.
"From supporting isolated residents with a friendly conversation or a meal delivery, to helping preserve our stunning bushlands and beaches, to sharing the stories that make up the rich tapestry of Mosman's history - your contributions make a real and lasting difference."
