Motorcyclist charged after extended follow from Epping to St Kilda

Police have charged a motorcyclist this morning after he was allegedly followed by the Air Wing between Epping and St Kilda, reaching speeds of around 200km/h.

Officers attempted to intercept a motorbike on Dalton Road in Epping about 4.15am.

The male rider allegedly fled the scene.

With assistance from the Air Wing, police followed the bike through multiple suburbs, where it allegedly reached about 200km/h, before coming to a stop in St Kilda.

Investigators were told the male rider got off the bike and entered a property on Tennyson Street where he was arrested.

Greensborough Highway Patrol officers have charged the man with multiple charges including conduct endangering life, conduct endangering serious injury, driving while disqualified, driving at a speed dangerous, committing an indictable offence while on bail and breaching bail conditions.

The 27-year-old Mickleham man is expected to appear before the Magistrates' Court later today.
