Cardinia Highway Patrol members are investigating following a fatal collision at Pakenham Upper earlier this morning, Victoria Police say.
The collision occurred on Pakenham Road just before 10am.
It’s understood a motorcyclist travelling north, approaching a left hand bend, lost control of his bike and fell to the roadway.
The motorcycle and the rider slid across the road onto the south-bound lane where he was struck by a Ford 4x4.
The 45-year-old Narre Warren man died at the scene.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
