Motorcyclist In Serious Condition After Ross Crash

A 75-year-old southern Tasmanian man has been airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious injuries after a motorcycle crash at Ross earlier this afternoon.

Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of the Midland Highway and Roseneath Road about 2pm, after reports a red motorcycle had collided with a blue Ford Ranger towing a caravan.

The rider was airlifted from the scene in a serious condition.

The occupants of the Ford Ranger were not physically injured.

Investigations into the crash are ongoing, and anyone with information or dash cam footage from around the time of the incident should contact police on 131 444.

The highway was closed for a short period as a result of the crash, and police would like to thank the community for their understanding during this time.
