Motorcyclist injured after fail to stop crash, NSW

Police are appealing for information after a crash in Ourimbah yesterday, NSW Police say.

Police have been told just before 6.30pm yesterday, a motorcyclist was riding on the M1 motorway near Ourimbah when he was hit by a silver Holden Commodore that was bearing red P plates.

The driver of the Commodore failed to stop and left the scene of the crash.

The rider fell off his bike and onto the roadway.

The 38-year-old man who had been riding the motorcycle was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

He was initially taken to Gosford Hospital but was later flown to Royal North Shore Hospital for surgery.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command are investigating the incident and wish to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have information on the silver Holden Commodore and its driver.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
