Mount Wallace fatal collision

A man has died following a collision in Mount Wallace on Anzac Day.

Emergency services were called to reports two garbage trucks, travelling in the same direction, collided on Mt Wallace-Ballark Road on Monday about 5.30am.

The driver of the rear truck, a 69-year-old Melton South man, was cut from the vehicle and taken to hospital in a critical condition.

He sadly died last night.

The driver of the other truck, a 56-year-old Melton West man, was not injured.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and will prepare a report for the Coroner.

WorkSafe Victoria are also investigating.
