Construction is progressing on the new Mt Atkinson East Recreation Reserve in Truganina, with the 10-hectare site on Kirkpatrick Boulevard taking shape as a new destination for sport and recreation.
Once complete, the reserve will feature natural turf soccer pitches, an AFL-sized oval, synthetic cricket pitches, practice nets and a pavilion to support sporting and community activities.
Landscaped gardens, walking paths and a playspace will provide further opportunities for recreation and community connection.
Works currently underway include construction of the sports fields, underground services and car park. Construction of the pavilion is planned to begin in 2027, with general landscaping and the playspace also scheduled to commence later next year.
The project is being delivered with support from the Victorian Government's Growing Suburbs Fund and is expected to be completed in 2028.
