Multiple break and enters; boy charged in Wallsend

A boy has been charged after multiple break and enters in Newcastle, NSW Police say.

Just before midday today (Thursday 26 July 2018), officers attached to Newcastle City Police District attended a unit on Bull Street, Mayfield.

A 14-year-old boy attempted to run from the home however he was arrested and taken to Waratah Police Station.

Police will allege in court the 14-year-old broke into six homes and stole from three cars in Wallsend between August 2017 and July 2018.

He was charged with five counts of break, enter and steal, attempted break, enter and steal, three counts of steel from motor vehicle and breach of bail.

The boy was refused bail and is due to appear at a Children’s Court tomorrow (Friday 27 May 2018).
