Murder charge laid following man's death, NSW

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Sydney’s west overnight.

Just before 5pm (Wednesday 28 February 2018), a 22-year-old man was dropped at Mt Druitt Hospital by a taxi, suffering stab wounds to his torso and head, NSW Police say.

He died a short time later.

Following inquires, police from Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended a unit on Mueller Place where they allege the man was stabbed.

A crime scene was established which was forensically examined overnight.

A 56-year-old man was arrested at the unit and taken to Nepean Hospital under police guard.

After his release from hospital the man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with murder.

He’s been refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Thursday 1 March 2018).

Police allege the men are known to each other.

Following further investigations, a crime scene was established at a unit complex on nearby Balleny Place as it’s believed the injured man walked there before getting into the taxi.

As investigations continue, police are urging anyone who saw the injured man to come forward.
