NTD Webinar Kinglake - WEB.png

Residents from across Murrindindi came together on Wednesday 15 July to learn how native pollinators help protect biodiversity, as part of Murrindindi Shire Council's National Tree Day celebrations.

Hosted by Council, in partnership with Zoos Australia, the free community event was held across Alexandra, Kinglake and Yea, as well as online, attracting 25 participants from across the Shire. The event reflects Council's ongoing commitment to protecting biodiversity, supporting environmental education and encouraging community participation in caring for Murrindindi's unique natural environment.

Mayor Cr Damien Gallagher, Cr Sue Carpenter and 2025 Murrindindi Shire Volunteer of the Year Ron Litjens attended the Yea Library session, and all participants also received a free native plant to take home.
