Music teacher charged indecent treatment of a child at Mackay

A 39-year-old music teacher has been charged with the alleged indecent treatment of a child.

It will be alleged the offences occurred between January last year and earlier this month during private music lessons at a home studio in Mackay.

The self-employed man has been charged with one count each of grooming a child under the age of 16 and using the internet to procure an indecent act along with two counts of indecent treatment.

Police are asking anyone who may have any further information regarding the offences or possible related matters to come forward.

The man advertised his music business via social media channels.

He is expected to face the Mackay Magistrates Court on August 17.

Investigations are continuing.
