Mustang stolen during aggravated burglary in Coburg

Detectives from Moreland Crime Investigation Unit are investigating an aggravated burglary and an attempted aggravated burglary which occurred in Coburg last week.

It is understood an unknown offender attended a property on Ronald Crescent about 1.20am on Thursday 25 May.

Police were told the offender entered an open door and stole house and car keys, along with remotes to the garage from inside the home.

The offender has then stolen a black 2016 Ford Mustang with registration 1GR3BP, which was parked in the driveway.

Investigators believe the same offender has returned to the home in a light-coloured SUV in the early hours of Friday, 26 May.

Officers were told a man got out of the vehicle and attempted to enter the garage using the stolen remotes about 3.15am.

Nothing was taken and the man fled the scene in the vehicle.

Detectives have released CCTV footage of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The investigation is ongoing.
