Clarence Valley Council's tourism team, known asMy Clarence Valley, has won the gold award for the Tourism Retail, Hire and Services category at the 2025 North Coast Regional Tourism awards for its creative, community-led approach to visitor servicing, sustainable development, and destination marketing.
The awards recognise excellence in the North Coast tourism industry across various categories. At the event held at Elements of Byron on Thursday, 31 July, My Clarence Valley team member, Jacqui, accepted the award on behalf of Council.
Clarence Valley Council's General Manager, Laura Black, said she's not surprised the team took out the win, after overseeing all the work focused on a sustainable approach to the visitor economy and improvements made to its tourism operations in the past 12 months.
"It's great to see the team rewarded for their work showcasing the excellence, innovation and resilience of the tourism sector.
"Following the success of the business-led Visitor Information Guide, it's clear Clarence Valley Council knows what it's doing when it comes to tourism."
Congratulations to the Harwood Hotel, which also took home a win, winning bronze in the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services category.
The next stop for the My Clarence Valley team is the NSW Tourism Awards, where winners will be announced at a gala event on 27 November 2025.
