National Disability Services welcomes ALP Shadow Ministers

National Disability Services (NDS) has welcomed the announcement that Linda Burney will be the Shadow Minister for Families and Social Services and that Bill Shorten will be the Shadow Minister for the NDIS and Government Services.

NDS Acting CEO, David Moody said "On behalf of NDS and our members, we congratulate Linda Burney and Bill Shorten on their appointment to these important shadow ministries."

"Ms Burney and Mr Shorten have both have been involved in the discussions around fixing the NDIS, and have been key supporters of this important reform.

"NDS is keen to work closely all sides of politics, the National Disability Insurance Agency and the NDIS Commission to ensure that disability service providers are able to provide quality services for people with disability, to support them to lead an ordinary life.

"Our focus is on working to fix a range of issues with the NDIS. This can only be done by a concerted effort, which means a bipartisan support to deliver the solutions. NDS supports this great social reform that so many Australians wanted and now depend upon.
