On Monday (29 September 2025), NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska visited Warsaw, Poland to conduct bilateral meetings and attend the Warsaw Security Forum.

During a panel discussion at the Forum, Ms Shekerinska affirmed NATO's commitment to further strengthening its deterrence and defence and ensuring the security of its one billion citizens, noting the swift and decisive action taken in response to recent violations of NATO airspace.
The Deputy Secretary General went on to highlight the role of Eastern Sentry, as a way for NATO to be "more flexible and yet stronger, wherever and whenever we are needed". This enhanced vigilance activity will use innovative technologies and tactics to meet all threats, including drones.
Ms Shekerinska also emphasised the need for continued support for Ukraine, in particular through the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative. More support for Ukraine is one way of countering "irresponsible and reckless behaviour" by Russia.
