NBL Takes Over Bendigo In Basketball Blitz

VIC Premier

Bendigo will host a week of elite basketball in September, delivering a major economic boost to the region.

The annual pre-season NBL Blitz will be staged at Bendigo Stadium from 2-6 September, bringing together all 10 NBL teams from across Australia and New Zealand.

It's a slam dunk for thousands of basketball fans, with 10 games over five days.

The next generation will also get the chance to meet their heroes with clinics and school visits.

The event will add another chapter to Bendigo's proud basketball history.

The city hosted Melbourne United and homegrown hero Dash Daniels for two packed games in January.

A further two games will be played in 2027.

The announcement comes as upgrades continue on the Bendigo Stadium, including two new indoor courts and the recently completed lighting for the outdoor netball courts.

The NBL Blitz is supported by the Allan Labor Government's Regional Events Fund, which helps create jobs, boost tourism and showcase communities across the state.
