NDIA strengthening its fraud control arrangements

An Australian National Audit Office report on the NDIS Fraud Control Program concludes the NDIA is largely compliant with requirements. Substantial work has been undertaken by the Agency over the past 18 months, with more to be implemented this year.

Visible fraud control measures are the promotion of information on how to report fraud, the establishment of the NDIS Fraud Taskforce (with the Federal Police and the Department of Human Services), and a review of providers who defrauded family day care and then turned their attention to the NDIS. The topic of fraud in the NDIS attracts a large amount of media attention.
