NDIS Framework Planning Report Released for Q1 2026

Department of Health

A consultation report on what we heard during the public consultation on new framework planning is now available.

The consultation explained how the new framework planning rules will work and sought feedback from NDIS participants, providers, carers, people with disability and advocates. People shared their views on the proposed changes, how the changes may work in practice and what they wanted more details on.

This feedback has helped shape the development of new framework planning rules, alongside work that is continuing to be done with the NDIA, State and Territory governments, and the disability community. New framework planning will make the NDIS fairer, more transparent, sustainable and person-centred.

As part of the broader NDIS reform program, we have also published a consultation report on feedback received during consultation on the NDIS supports rules, which ran from 16 June to 27 July 2025.

Together, feedback from new framework planning and the NDIS supports rules consultations will help guide NDIS reforms and improve the experience for participants.

New framework planning is expected to begin from April 2027 and will be introduced gradually over the coming years.

Accessible versions of the report, including Easy Read and Auslan are available on the Consultation hub.
