Nelson Bay to shine this New Year's Eve

Port Stephen

Watch the Bay shine as we bring in 2022 at the Port Stephens New Year's Eve fireworks spectacular, proudly supported by D'Albora Marina and Custom Built Projects.

Welcome 2022 with fireworks at the Bay this year.

The past few years have been difficult for everyone and this is our opportunity to reflect, look forward and celebrate the incredible place in which we live, work and play.

Nelson Bay is renowned for its New Year's Eve Fireworks, bringing community and visitors together to celebrate each year at the picturesque waterfront.

Port Stephens Council Group Manager of Development Services Steven Peart says that "this fireworks display is the perfect way to start the New Year on a high note as a community."

"This will be the first time the event has been held since 2019. We know the community and our visitors are really excited to come together again and support our local businesses and tourism industry as we reopen after a year of restrictions and lockdowns," Mr Peart said.

"There are a number of activities happening this New Year's across the Bay, so locals and visitors can really make a night of it.

"Treat yourself and your family to dinner and drinks at one of the fabulous cafés or restaurants, enjoying some of the delicious local produce on offer while being surrounded by one of the most beautiful natural landscapes on the east coast," he added.

D'Albora Marina at Nelson Bay has a program of live entertainment scheduled throughout the day and offers the perfect place to view the fireworks spectacular at 9pm.

Alternatively, grab a picnic blanket and settle into one of the many viewing locations along the Nelson Bay foreshore.

This is an alcohol free, family friendly event for all to enjoy and celebrate bringing in a healthier and happier New Year.
