Residents and visitors to the MidCoast are benefiting from improved public amenities, with three upgrade projects now complete in Taree and Gloucester.
A brand-new amenities building has been constructed on Albert Street in Taree's CBD, replacing the ageing facility with a modern, accessible and user-friendly space designed to meet the community's needs for years to come.
The project was jointly funded by the NSW Government through Round 5 of the Stronger Country Communities Fund and MidCoast Council.
Upgrades to the amenities block at King George V Memorial Park in Gloucester have also been completed. The project was funded through Duralie Specified Community Infrastructure Funding.
Maintenance work at the Stokes Park amenities block in Taree have also been finalised, funded through the NSW Government's Community Building Partnership program and a co-contribution from Council's Building Renewal Program.
MidCoastCouncil Executive Manager Public Spaces Liam Bulley said the improvements form part of Council's ongoing commitment to providing quality public infrastructure across the region.
"Providing safe, accessible and inclusive public amenities is an important part of supporting our community and welcoming visitors to the region," Mr Bulley said.
The projects form part of Council's broader amenities upgrade program, which is delivering improvements to public facilities across the region.
