New Art For Public Spaces Across SEQ

The Albanese Labor Government is investing in public art and architecture projects in shared spaces across South East Queensland.

The works will transform public areas, foster a sense of community and increase access to cultural experiences.

Local Councils are drawing on the funding to commission artists. The selected projects tell unique stories from across the region:

  • There will be four projects for the Brisbane City Council: Iconic Public Artwork at Reddacliff Place, Street Art Murals, and Visual Art Display at Queen Street and Burnett Lane.
  • There will be seven artworks at Outdoor Galleries for the City of Moreton Bay: North Lakes Library (Screen and Lightboxes), Redcliffe Library, Caboolture Town Square, Morayfield Sports and Events Centre, South Pine Indoor Sports Centre and Pine Rivers Park.
  • Two City Centre functional art trails will be installed in the Logan City Council area.
  • There will be two projects for the Sunshine Coast Council: Caloundra Library Building Major Public Art Project and 'Songline of Gillingu' Aunty Bridgette Chilli, for the Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation.
  • There will be two artworks for the Ipswich City Council: 'Holding Time' and 'Pollen Pods'.
  • The Toowoomba Regional Council will receive the Flower Wall Mosaic Walk.
  • The Redland City Council will receive funding for the Redlands Coast Eco Precinct Public Art Project.
  • There will be two artworks for the Noosa Council: 'Crossing the Bar' and 'Remainders (Noosa) 2026'.
  • The Scenic Rim Regional Council will receive funding for the Davidson Park Nature Play Space.
  • There will be two artworks for the Lockyer Valley Regional Council: 'Between Water' and 'Wild Lake Apex'.
  • The Somerset Regional Council will receive funding for the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Arts Pathway.
