New Chair and Directors appointed to Museum and Art Gallery of the NT

Minister for Tourism and Culture, Lauren Moss has appointed the Hon. Clare Martin as the new Chair of the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT).

Based at Bullocky Point, MAGNT is the Territorys premier cultural institution with collections boasting important Aboriginal art and cultural objects, a natural science and a maritime museum, and exhibiting history and art from across the Territory and across the region, including our near neighbours to the north.

Ms Martin joins four new Directors to the MAGNT Board, who are all appointed for three-year terms. The Chair is appointed following a recommendation by the Board to the Minister, as required under s.17 of The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory Act 2014.

Minister Moss also welcomed the following new Directors to the Board:

  • Dr Stephen Morton
  • Mr James Paspaley
  • Ms Franchesca Cubillo
  • Mr Philip Watkins.
