Castle Hill Library, the Pioneer Theatre and the Community Centre at the Pennant Street complex in Castle Hill are open and safe to visit.

The venues were closed briefly, for a period of two months, while a brand new lift was installed and renovation works were carried out in the Library.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said she was really proud of the work that was completed to enhance and improve the accessibility within these venues.

"We've recarpeted, sanded and resealed the floors inside the library, as well as painted and remodelled the customer service area. The customer service desk is my absolute favourite and was made from recycling parts of the old counter," Mayor Byrne said.

"And the new lift makes it easier to travel between levels and the carpark at the Pennant Street complex.

"I'd like to thank everyone for their patience and support throughout the brief closure period. I urge residents to come back and visit these venues again. Our library is full of fantastic books and resources and our Theatre is a great place to enjoy a night out," Mayor Byrne added.

The Pioneer Theatre will reopen with Blackout Theatre's version of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical from May 7 to 16.

And the Library is bringing back its 'In Conversation' event.

Mayor Byrne will be hosting a Q&A with local author Nicola Moriarty about her latest book, You Need to Know on Thursday, May 27. Cost is $7.50 per person. Bookings are essential and can be made via the Library website, www.thehills.nsw.gov.au/Library.

"I can't wait to see everyone using these venues again," Mayor Byrne added.
