New Citizens Celebrated in Murrindindi Ceremony

In a joyful ceremony held on Tuesday 29 April at Alexandra Council Chamber, Murrindindi Shire Council officially welcomed six new Australian Citizens as part of a special citizenship event.

Hosted by Mayor Damien Gallagher, together with Deputy Mayor Anita Carr and CEO Livia Bonazzi, the ceremony brough together families, community leaders and Council representatives to witness and celebrate this important milestone in the lives of the new citizens.

The conferees, Frederick, Ritchie, John, Yumeng, Robert, and Alexander, have pledged their commitment to Australia's democratic values and were presented with certificates of citizenship in front of an audience of family and friends.

In attendance were guests including Michelle Jack – Secretary Alexandra Football Netball Club, Neil Robinson - Alexandra RSL and Alexandra Football Netball Club, Annie Robinson - Alexandra RSL and Football Netball Club, Martine Sloan - Red Gate CWA, Noel McIlwraith – Rotary Club of Alexandra and Murrindindi Foodshare, John McIlwraith – Friends of Rotary, and Cindy McLeish MP who were pleased to congratulate our newest Australians.

Council will proudly host a further two Citizenship Ceremonies throughout 2025.
