Jacquie Petrusma,Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management

Congratulations to the 26 new constables that have graduated from the Tasmania Police Recruit Course today as part of the Tasmanian Liberal Government's plan to boost police numbers and keep Tasmanians safe.

These 13 men and 13 women have graduated following a rigorous recruit course preparing them to join Tasmania Police ranks to serve and protect our community.

The officers will be stationed across the State with 14 at Hobart, 1 at Glenorchy, 4 at Launceston, 3 at Burnie and 4 at Devonport.

I would like to congratulate all the graduating officers today, and wish them well as they embark on a rewarding career serving the Tasmanian community.

Tasmania Police is highly regarded and respected within our community, with officers playing a significant role supporting Tasmanians in their time of need.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is rebuilding our police service, and with 70 police officers graduating this year alone, we are on track to add 308 additional police to the front line.
