New Consul-General To Auckland

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Today I announce the appointment of the Hon Stirling Hinchliffe as Consul General- in Auckland, New Zealand.

Mr Hinchliffe has held roles in the public and private sectors, most recently as Director of Strategy Development at Northern Australia Accommodation Solutions. Before this, Mr Hinchcliffe had an extensive parliamentary career within the Queensland Government, with ministerial portfolios including Tourism, Innovation and Sport.

Mr Hinchliffe's appointment will further strengthen Australia and New Zealand's long-standing relationship, and strong economic, trade and investment ties.

I congratulate Mr Hinchliffe on his well-deserved appointment, and I thank outgoing Consul-General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner Brad Williams for his successful term in the role.
