The Liverpool community is being given their first look at the design for the new Prestons Ambulance Station which will deliver a boost to emergency and mobile medical care.
The new ambulance station will be located on Enterprise Circuit, Prestons and is part of the NSW Government's $615.5 million NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program to bolster frontline emergency services.
The modern, purpose-built station will provide a high-quality workplace for local paramedics. It will feature internal parking for up to 10 emergency ambulance vehicles, on-site vehicle wash facilities, administration and logistics areas, multipurpose spaces, staff amenities including a gym, and on-site parking.
Construction is expected to begin on the new station later this year, following planning approval and the appointment of a building contractor.
NSW Ambulance identified Prestons as a high priority location following a comprehensive service planning process using best practice modelling software to map Triple Zero (000) calls. The new ambulance station will optimise response performance to better meet the emergency and mobile medical care needs of the local community.
The NSW Government is delivering 30 new ambulance stations and supporting infrastructure across Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Hunter and Illawarra regions over the coming years.
New ambulance stations are being delivered across south-western Sydney as part of the program, with new stations to service communities in Raby, Prairiewood, Glendenning, Glenmore Park, the Aerotropolis and Bargo.
The NSW Government is recruiting 2,500 additional NSW Ambulance staff including 500 paramedics to rural and regional areas, to boost emergency and mobile healthcare for our metropolitan and regional communities.
