The Crisafulli Government continues its Fresh Start for Queensland with the appointment of Ms Bronwyn Blagoev, as the Director-General for the Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers.
Ms Blagoev is currently the Independent Assessor and has previously held senior executive roles in Queensland Government departments.
Ms Blagoev is an experienced executive leader and is a passionate advocate for reform, she is celebrated for her ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and her deep commitment to advancing outcomes for rural and regional communities.
Minister for Local Government and Water Ann Leahy said Ms Blagoev brought a wealth of experience to the role.
"Ms Blagoev has a background in delivering strong results in complex environments, and this appointment marks an important step in delivering on the Government's promises to Queenslanders," Ms Leahy said.
"With more than 20 years' experience in supporting Queensland's local governments, Ms Blagoev is well placed to lead the Department.
"I also extend my thanks to Acting Director-General Joshua Hannan for his leadership while acting in the role, who returns to his position as Deputy Director-General Local Government Division."
