VicScreen, Foxtel Group and Screen Australia today announced that the brand-new Australian original drama series Wentworth: Halfway Home will be filmed and post-produced in Victoria.
Set in the freedom-adjacent world made famous by the iconic series Wentworth, this series takes the story beyond the prison walls and into a new world of redemption and survival.
A bold new chapter in the Wentworth universe, Wentworth: Halfway Home follows a group of former inmates as they attempt to rebuild their lives on the outside. Returning fan-favourites Susan 'Boomer' Jenkins (Katrina Milosevic), Franky Doyle (Nicole da Silva) and Lou Kelly (Kate Box) lead an ensemble cast alongside a compelling new generation of characters.
Joining the cast are Alex King, who recently starred in global hit War Machine and, in her first major television role, Chenile Chandler, with further cast to be announced.
Freshly paroled, Boomer arrives at Sal's Halfway House determined to get custody of her daughter and build a life for the both of them. But when a body turns up, who can she trust in a home full of ex-cons? Getting out of prison was hard, but staying out may prove impossible.
