As the economy evolves, many small and medium-sized enterprises in Atlantic Canada are embracing technology to become more productive and competitive. With new technology, businesses can create good jobs and produce top-quality products, leading to growth opportunities at home and abroad.

That is why the Government of Canada is investing to help Bourque Industrial Ltd. in Saint John purchase advanced equipment, boosting productivity and manufacturing capacity.

Federal investment supports company's growth

Today, Wayne Long, Member of Parliament for Saint John-Rothesay, announced a repayable contribution of $178,450 to Bourque Industrial Ltd. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA.

This investment will allow Bourque Industrial Ltd. to purchase advanced machinery and equipment. These upgrades are expected to increase production efficency by 25 percent. The project will also help complete fencing required for a secured facility, which will attract new contract opportunities.

Today's announcement further demonstrates the Government of Canada's commitment to help businesses grow, reach new markets and contribute to Atlantic Canada's economic recovery.
