New Farm Business Management Skill Set program for women

AgForce members looking to boost their skill set can now enrol in a special "for women, by women" rural development course.

Rural Jobs and Skills Alliance (RJSA) has partnered with the University of Queensland to deliver two editions of the Farm Business Management Skill Set program in April and June.

The course is an accredited, nationally recognised credential, and aims to celebrate and encourage women's participation in agriculture by providing them with the skills and knowledge to manage farm business and business risks.

Funded by the Queensland Government's Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, topics covered include how to:

  • apply advanced risk management strategies
  • implement effective marketing strategies to drive sales and support growth
  • review farm business operations and performance in line with relevant legislation and codes of practice.

The program is delivered over two 2-day blocks, with some online learning in between.
