New home for RCC Fringe at University of Adelaide

RCC Fringe (formerly known as the Royal Croquet Club) will have a new home at the University of Adelaide's North Terrace campus starting with the Adelaide Fringe 2019 Season.

Under the management of Adelaide company Momentarily, RCC Fringe 2019 at the University of Adelaide will open from Friday 15 February – Sunday 18 March 2019.

With its focus on live music, visual art, physical circus and dance, RCC Fringe 2019 at the University of Adelaide will host leading performing artists from around the country and the world and also include some of the country’s most influential culinary talents.

"At its new location throughout the University's historic and iconic grounds, RCC Fringe will create the most unique and experiential offering of any venue during the Adelaide Fringe 2019 season. RCC Fringe at the University of Adelaide quite honestly will be a game changer for the Adelaide Fringe," said Momentarily Chairman Jason Di Iulio.

"Our collaboration with the University of Adelaide provides a unique opportunity to promote the University of Adelaide and the Adelaide Fringe to visitors from around the nation through the unique creativity and programming for which RCC is known," he said.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Rathjen said RCC Fringe 2019 at the University of Adelaide will showcase the University to the community at a time when Adelaide is immersed in "festival fever".

"The University of Adelaide has played a major role in the arts in South Australia for over a century. Our Elder Professor of Music, John Bishop, is considered the founding father of the Adelaide Festival of the Arts and was its first Artistic Director. In 1960, the first Festival was held at venues in and around our University's North Terrace campus. We have been a strong supporter of the Adelaide Festival and Fringe for many years," Professor Rathjen said.

"By bringing the RCC Fringe to our North Terrace campus, we will once again welcome thousands of new visitors from around Australia, placing the University at the heart of a vibrant, exciting community arts event," he said.

The full RCC Fringe 2019 at the University of Adelaide program will be released in December 2018.
