New Hub Opens For Young People In Bannockburn

VIC Premier

Young people in the Golden Plains Shire have a new place to call their own with the opening of a youth hub in Bannockburn, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Local Government Shaun Leane this week joining Golden Plains Shire Council and local community members to officially open the Golden Plains Youth Hub, made possible by $271,000 from the Labor Government's Growing Suburbs Fund.

The new youth hub will provide a safe, vibrant and welcoming space for young people from across the shire to gather and create new social connections in the growing community.

They will be able to access innovative and inclusive programs and services through the hub, supporting them to learn and develop new skills, build resilience and confidence.

The Growing Suburbs Fund supports the creation of community connections and has invested more than $4.22 million in the Golden Plains Shire Council area in the past two years. Other projects to receive the funding include the Ross Creek Play and Active Recreation Upgrade, which received $450,000 and the Rokewood Community Hub and Pavilion Upgrade, which received $3.5 million.
