New Logan Village Yarrabilba Police Station

The new Logan Village Yarrabilba Police Station will be completed by the end of next month.

The existing Logan Village Beat is being upgraded and refurbished to provide a new and much larger facility that will enhance policing capabilities in this rapidly growing area.

Due to recent infrastructure development and the subsequent population growth of Logan Village, Yarrabilba and surrounding areas, this upgrade was deemed necessary to service the needs of these suburbs and was a government election commitment.

A new policing division has also been established to take over parts of the Crestmead and Jimboomba divisions to provide more efficient delivery of policing services for the growing community.

Logan MP Linus Power said the imminent completion of the new Logan Village Yarrabilba Police Station was a reflection of the Police Service's commitment to local communities.

"The Queensland Police Service constantly monitors population growth and trends so that informed decisions can be made about the allocation of police resources and the placement of facilities.

"Places like Yarrabilba are growth areas and this new police facility reflects that trend, the Logan MP said.

Police Minister Mark Ryan said it was important that communities are safe and that residents in those communities feel safe.

"The Queensland Police Service has a thoroughly deserved reputation internationally as a world class operation.

"It's a modern police service that has adopted technology so that police can spend more time out on the streets and less time behind a desk.

"The result is people see more police, more often.

"It's that high visibility presence that can make such a difference when it comes to community safety," the Minister said.
