New look for Keith Street, Seymour

Controlled demolition works of the building formerly on the Council-managed site at 27 Keith Street, Seymour, have been completed with the area to be landscaped in coming weeks.

A small section of the footpath along Keith Street was also removed as part of this process. Works to reinstate the footpath will begin on Monday 17 August, weather permitting. The cleared area will be seeded and landscaped.

Council purchased the site through its Strategic Land Acquisition program. It is a significant location for expanding future services to the Seymour community because of its proximity to nearby residential areas, Chittick Park, and future residential growth areas identified within the Seymour Structure Plan and through the Seymour Revitalisation Project.

The area is easily accessible by public transport and receives significant foot traffic and, with being close to Seymour Library, Seymour College and Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre, is a natural fit for further community use.
