Melton City Council has welcomed the announcement of the site for the new Melton TAFE campus this week, bringing the delivery of this vital project for the City of Melton a step closer.
Minister for Skills and TAFE the Hon Gayle Tierney MP joined representatives from Kangan Institute and Melton City Council for the announcement of the new site, located on the corner of Hollingsworth Drive and Ferris Road in Cobblebank.
The new TAFE, which will be operated by Kangan Institute, will offer courses in construction and associated trades, ensuring residents have access to training and clear pathways to local employment.
With more than 70 per cent of the workforce currently travelling outside of the city for work, having a skilled, local workforce to support and grow the local economy continues to be one of Council's advocacy priorities
The Victorian Government has invested $55 million towards delivery of the TAFE which is due to open in 2028.
In the interim, Kangan Institute will offer vocational education and training courses at Western BACE while works progress on the Melton campus.
