New Parks and Wildlife Website supporting visitors to experience our spectacular natural environment

Peter Gutwein,Minister for Environment, Parks and Heritage

Our parks and reserves are the envy of the world and an important part of the Tasmanian way of life.

Today it's my pleasure to officially launch the new look Parks and Wildlife Service website.

The new website offers an inspiring gateway for Tasmanian park's experiences and is designed to be intuitive and easy for visitors to navigate, particularly for those accessing the site from a mobile device. It also complies with international standards to ensure all visitors to the site, regardless of their abilities in hearing or sight, are able to have a full experience.

The site encourages visitors to take full advantage of the exceptional beauty and rugged wilderness of our state along with the diversity of experiences on offer, many of which have come about as a result of our nation-leading expression of interest process.

The website provides links to the best source of up to date information for our visitors, including important safety information whilst also encouraging visitors planning their trips to undertake their own research, particularly when it comes to checking in with the Bureau of Meteorology, and the Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police for any alerts.

We have a long-term plan to make Tasmania the eco-tourism capital of the world, and our plan is working with more visitors coming to our state, staying longer, exploring our regional areas and spending more while they are here, benefiting all Tasmanians, especially our regional economies.
