New plans for Australia's biggest biotech industry gathering

AusBiotech has shifted its plans for AusBiotech 2021, the biggest gathering of Australia's biotech industry, and will now offer a predominantly virtual format, with the support to bring the event to Brisbane moving to 2023.

Due to the ongoing public health response and pandemic-related border closures nationally and internationally, the backing for AusBiotech 2021 as a Brisbane-based event has shifted to support the planned in-person event in October 2023 instead.

AusBiotech 2021 will now be delivered through a predominantly virtual format, with some face-to-face components as restrictions allow. Australia's premier biotech conference will unite and engage the Australian and global industry virtually by bringing the industry's leaders together to further the sector.

Lorraine Chiroiu, CEO, AusBiotech, said, "As the pandemic continues to challenge us, this is a good outcome to ensure that AusBiotech, as always, offers opportunities to continue connecting the pipeline, providing access to local and global thought-leaders, with certainty, to celebrate the sector and facilitate its global development."

"We look forward to bringing the biggest biotech industry gathering to Brisbane in 2023, and in the meantime offering a predominately virtual event for 2021," she said.

No matter the year, Australia's biggest week in biotech will remain the feature event that the sector has known and trusted for more than 35 years and is developed by the industry for the industry.

AusBiotech remains committed to providing a valuable, flexible and accessible forum to pitch, partner, exchange and engage, no matter where you are.
