New platform for Alice Springs artists with disability

NT Government

A new exhibition showcasing works by artists with disability will open in Alice Springs on Saturday, 25 March.

Strong Feelings, which will take place at Red Hot Arts, includes a mixture of portraiture and storytelling, using costume, digital art, song, soundscapes, video and photography.

The collection of works share the varied and thought-provoking stories and journeys of a group of artists with disability living in Alice Springs (Mparntwe).

The exhibition is being presented by Incite Arts and stArts with D.

Incite Arts is an Alice Springs-based organisation that supports accessible, inclusive, disability-led and community-engaged arts programs. stArts with D is a performing arts ensemble engaging artists with disability in programs to build skills, co-create, collaborate and present disability-led performance works. Northern Territory Government is supporting the exhibition through Northern Territory Major Events Company's (NTMEC) Event Funding Program.
