The playground at McKenzie Park in Wilberforce is getting a big glow up!

From Monday 30 March 2026, the park will be closed to allow for the removal of the ageing play space and the installation of new, accessible play equipment, plus seating and bin.

The new play equipment will include a climbing activity unit, slide, large single swing, ground level mini trampoline and a spinner. Fresh softfall, mulch and sandstone block landscaping will also be included.

Provision has been made to install a shade sail over the playground at a future date when funding becomes available.

Works are anticipated to take up to six weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Council is committed to providing accessible play spaces for a variety of ages across our City as part of its multi-year prioritised asset renewal program.
