The Community House in East Warrnambool will operate today (Friday, October 1) as a South West HealthCare COVID-19 testing clinic.
The Community House at 17 Fleetwood Court, will be open as a walk-up (no appointment required) service from 10am to 2pm.
And to acknowledge the efforts being made by the community, all those being tested at either the Community House or the Friendly Societies Reserve sites will go into a draw to win one of 20 vouchers worth $50 which have been donated by Gateway Plaza and Kmart.
The vouchers have been made available through a partnership with local support agency A Helping Hand and local businesses.
Warrnambool Mayor Cr Vicki Jellie said Warrnambool was in the midst of a quickly changing situation with a total of 17 COVID-positive cases across four Warrnambool households.
"Council and organisations such as A Helping Hand are doing what they can to support the amazing efforts of the South West HealthCare team," Cr Jellie said.
"We know the number of exposure sites with grow as the Department of Health maps out the movements of the current positive cases.
"We're encouraging people in the east and north-east of Warrnambool to take advantage of the nearby testing site at the Neighbourhood House.
"Warrnambool people have responded quickly and responsibly to the arrival of COVID-19 in the city.
"We need everyone to keep checking for updates to the exposure sites list and to get if you've been to a listed site or are experiencing any symptoms.
"South West Healthcare is also advising us to keep movements around the city to a bare minimum and to use home delivery and click and collect services where possible."
A second pop-up testing clinic will operate today( Friday, October 1) at Deakin University.
