She has sat on Council for 8 years and has served as Chair of the Professional Standards and Fellowship Services Committee since 2023.

The College acknowledges the enormous contributions of outgoing leaders. Professor Owen Ung's presidency began in May 2025, and built on his many previous years in College leadership roles, including as vice president and chair of the RACS Queensland State Committee. Professor Ung has led the College through a period of significant positive change, including governance reform, restored financial discipline, and work well underway to modernise surgical education. A strong advocate at a time of significant challenges for the surgical profession and a commitment to unity, he has emphasised that the profession is strongest when it speaks with one voice and that unity delivers the best outcomes.
Associate Professor Ray Sacks concludes his term as Vice President after serving six years on Council. Associate Professor Sacks used his time as Vice President to communicate the value of the College to members, as well as those outside the surgical community.
We look forward to working with the new leadership line up as we continue to unite the surgical profession and bringing our mission to life as we head into our Centenary year.
