Four new Probationary Constables will join the ranks of the Clarence and Richmond Valleys following their attestation at the Goulburn Police Academy.
Nationals State Member for Clarence, Richie Williamson, said the new officers form part of a wider intake across the Coffs/Clarence and Richmond Police Districts, with one Probationary Constable commencing duties in the Richmond Valley at Casino, and three officers stationed in the Clarence Valley at Grafton and Yamba.
Mr Williamson said he was pleased to see additional police resources allocated to communities across his electorate.
"I warmly welcome our newest men and women in blue to the Clarence and Richmond Valleys and thank them for choosing our region as the place to begin their policing careers," Mr Williamson said.
"Our local police play a vital role in keeping our communities safe and connected, and the commitment shown by these new officers to serve the people of our region is sincerely appreciated."
Mr Williamson said choosing a career in policing demonstrated a strong sense of service and dedication.
"Policing is a demanding and rewarding profession, and I thank these officers for stepping forward to serve and protect our communities," he said.
"I wish them every success as they begin their careers in our beautiful region, and I know they will be well supported by their colleagues and welcomed by the communities they serve."
The Probationary Constables have completed eight months of foundational training at the Goulburn Police Academy and have since commenced duties at their respective local stations.
